Welcome to UHOVI (Universities Heads of the Valleys Institute), a ground breaking and exciting education initiative providing new opportunities for local people and businesses.

UHOVI is all about improving skills and qualifications by making learning accessible locally. Ultimately this will contribute to the regeneration of the Valleys, improving job prospects and the quality of life for those living and working in the region.

We offer a wide range of higher education courses of varying lengths, in a number of different subject areas. It doesn't matter if you're employed or not, and qualifications are not always necessary as we consider life and work experience too. Courses are designed to meet the needs of existing and growing industries in the region, so the training and experience you gain are relevant to local business.

Backed by the Welsh Government, UHOVI is a strategic partnership between the University of Glamorgan and University of Wales, Newport. UHOVI is working closely with further education colleges and training providers, local authorities, businesses, schools and the voluntary sector to show how a combined effort can make a real difference.
