Student Profiles

Twenty-six year old Nick Clements left school at 16 and wasn’t sure what he wanted to do for a living.  He drifted into working for a double glazing firm, and began taking unpaid day release to attend college.  He is currently working for Laing O’Rourke on the new Coleg Morgannwg Taf Ely Learning Campus, and studying one day a week on the Foundation Degree in Sustainable Construction and Surveying at Coleg Morgannwg. Nick says that studying and working at the same time is ideal for him, and situations in his work can help him to see how the theory works in practice.  Nick is enjoying studying and plans to progress onto higher level study in the future, improving his prospects and achieving things he never believed he could.
